Put in Tracker modules, take your IP, know everything about your PC and CP, the OS, your connectivity, access your other phone apps, even your media folders etc.,👎. Oh goody, you guys were able to finally get rid of that pesky logo of teef Gravatar! When I was lead dev there, I was able to redirect it to a dummy avatar and stopped it from grabbing authors’ avatars together with their eMails and other more personal info (That thank heavens we don’t ever ask about), but I left recommendations on what to do next to take its logo off so authors’ show up. Not that many pple know about what Gravatar really does in the guise of “Global Avatar”👎 like so the more mainstream a site is, the more tracking, the more ‘stealing’? 👎🙄
I’m really smh, all social media, except you friends I guess, using gravatars, that webmasters/developers don’t probably even know Gravatar is operating from behind (Or maybe don’t really care because needs extra work to stop it) and takes such personal meta info-data on their sites🙄. Heard recently that they’re having some EU GDPR issues now.
I think and feel that we’re the only pple and some clients – Who I used to try to make understand that the more fancy a site service is, the more it isn’t building from the native framework, but no, some clients just want to do and look like everybody else 🙄!
Anyway, I believe and feel that we, wWw and certain clients seem to be the only ones who really care about user privacy. Just imagine, just think about that. 🙄
I remember, 1st day of orientation and I think you were asked too, CTO (Really such an ‘straight’ person with high integrity), asked everyone, “How would you feel if someone or an organization, without your knowledge, was being fed your avatar, media, username, email, phone number, and if a site asked for more PII and PI, etc., and on top of that, selling all those info, and without being told that they do … While you’re conceptualizing, planning and on any task, simultaneously, I always want you guys to feel that you are likewise the User”.

Actually it’s ‘progressive’ / productive / successful people who care more about their web privacy.
Oh no way, no instant or packaged social websites around here, we built our own theme in fact from one code up. Even website owners wouldn’t know, or bother to know if components that comprise the whole instant or canned websites they bought as a whole website, ‘ready-to-use’ websites, look-up, collect and sell IP, PII, PI, Geolocation, user data, etc..
For sure those packaged Commenting Systems with the click the Comment bubble and the built in ‘record voice’ or ‘record video’ straight from those Comment boxes use EXIF-GPS to know where your gadget is – What’s wrong with the native comment system? All one has to do is upload after recording, instead of using those externals’ media resources. And Gravatar, way too many to say, even that Facial Recognition on photos – content and data are collected and sent to external entities who provide the facial recognition! The native framework does not have facial recognition capabilities. Must stick to native capabilities as much as possible.
