Downtown, someone would come up to me oftenly and ask me a question in Spanish (I look Latina but I’m Anglo-Asian) assuming I am but I think it’s their way of putting awareness on English-speaking Americans that like, “Hey, you gotta learn Spanish ok.” Oh they keep to their nationality always, that’s not going to help with immersion and assimilation. Maybe inter-racial grouping and seating arrangements in classrooms in primary and secondary schools could help.

My parents worked very hard to be chosen to come to America on student visas, took all those grueling tests – Grad school applications, must be top of their universities in their country, the GRE, the TOEFL, ESL, the poorest grad students because they could only work 12hrs./week on minimum and only inside the university as college grads at that, and the green card requirements, waited 5 long years to become American citizens … Just like that bashing, traitorous Rep. Omar, I’m sure most of those migrants who came in easy won’t ever learn to truly appreciate America and all the civil liberties that we stand for.

It’s either, this current administration overlooked (Again) salient points of being a true American under all facets of our Constitution or they just don’t respect it! And on that note, the existing rad L feel they can install anything, anything upon us for their benefit in disguise of ours!

He truly discussed about the reality and yes the reality is you’ll never get an answer or will be disregarded, most often condescendingly, if you don’t speak with them in their language. Depending on the Latin country, ones already over here for decades insist on and blatantly show extreme favor over pple who can speak Spanish. English-speakers don’t put that force on Hispanic immigrants to learn English properly and converse with non-Spanish speaking pple, but maybe we should now. Most important facet is to assimilate, the biggest prob now is, into what? Into a Marxist-like society run by an oppressor-oppressed government structure?
