The ‘natural’, inexpensive and highly intuitive Trump EO, “Trillion Trees Act” authored by Rep. Bruce Westerman (R-AR), does not need to be modified with that added ‘Deforestration After’, aka the ‘gift’ for the logging business add-on, if only for bipartisanship. It’s easier for non-sci politicians to say trees can’t suck up ‘all’ the carbon quickly enough than read a section of a Botany textbook … The original Act is a Nature solution for an issue that befell unto Nature from processes that ran for decades but air quality improvement from even a forest of saplings is already evident and can be measured. Note that mature forest trees are more efficient in capturing and storing carbon than young forests. Even rotting trees continue to store carbon from air.
