Pickled Eggs? Is that the same as Century Eggs? I know East Asian cuisine pickle eggs unshelled. Those look like they were pickled with the eggshell in tact. They’re probably not slimey like Century Eggs but I’m sure both are nutritious.

Hi 👋They’re both from eggs but nutritional content, taste and looks are different. My country is in South East Asia and we call our pickled eggs, Red Eggs which isn’t the actual color after pickling for a day or two but just to make them more appealing than a mint white color after the pickling. A natural coloring from crushed achuete seeds are used that’s why they’re red, can’t use artificial coloring because eggshells have become more porous. I wish they can be baby pink☺️ Red Eggs have higher Calcium content than Century Eggs and yes, not slimy one bit, taste just like seasoned chicken! They’re delicious with just tomatoes and onions. They’re ref life is long, I think 6 months in fact.
